This Desert Tan beast was restored by a well respected Land Cruiser specialty restoration company, and it is nicer (and much better equipped) than it was when it was new. With 158803 km on the odometer, that's just under 99K miles. And, given that the Georgia-based company fully sorts everything during one of their bespoke restorations, one can rest assured it has plenty of life left in it. Under the hood is the virtually bulletproof 4. 2L Toyota I-6 diesel, which is backed by a 5-speed manual with a dual range transfer case. Its custom made stainless steel exhaust bears mention because of its artfully designed and welded configuration. This tall Troopy is riding on a set of LT285/70R17 BFG All-Terrain K02 tires, which are proven Baja race winners, known for their offroad performance and durability. Suspension is heavy duty, with Old Man Emu shocks to provide damping for the HD suspension. Its power brakes feature heavy duty front discs with massive 4-piston calipers for the extra stopping power this heavy duty rig needs. Just by looking at its exterior accoutrements, one can tell it was built for Overlanding: Front Runner Outfitters roof rack, ARB front winch bumper with ComeUp winch,...

1971 Marked the final year of the 280SL's production, and saw a little more than 800 units produced, with only about 10 percent of them being configured with manual transmissions. These 'Pagoda' Benzes have long been a sought-after collector's item, and this example is a very good one. Its Signal Red paint really pops in bright light and is in great condition. The interior looks practically unused, with its supple yet supportive black leather seats showing almost no wear, and the black carpeting also seems to have seen very little use. A folio of receipts and documentation tracing much of its ownership history, with records (and many receipts) having been traced back to 1981 will accompany the car. This fine example of the Mercedes-Benz W113 platform is powered by a strong 2. 8L fuel injected inline 6-cylinder engine, which is certainly more enjoyable when backed by the butter smooth shifting 4-speed manual transmission. Power four-wheel disc brakes provide sure stopping power, and the radial tires add to the handling and ride comfort. Power steering makes parking a breeze and managing jaunts down twisty roads a pleasure. A...

This sweet ride is no trailer queen, either - with a tick over 2400 miles on it, it's clearly built to be driven to all of the shows it's going to win! Suffice it to say that space limitations will apply to how much detail we can go into on this car, because it is one of the most intricately thought out (and executed) custom street rods we've had the pleasure of hosting! There are two giant 3-ring binders with over 1000 photos chronicling the project's build, and a large expandable portfolio full of receipts and operating instructions for many of the parts and systems. The beautiful purple paint is by PPG, and although there is a 'Spray Out Card' with the final color, it does not identify the color code. But don't let that distract you from the exceptional paint and body work - there's nary a ripple or wave, and the finish is smooth as glass. As your eyes wander all over, in, and under this car, you'll notice that virtually everything is either chromed, ceramic coated, or powder coated and buffed to a high gloss. Some of the contributors involved in the build and subsequent additional customization include...
