The GXP version of the Solstice debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006 packing 260 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque from the direct-injection turbocharged and intercooled 2. 0-liter version of GM's four-cylinder Ecotec mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It was a runaway hit for Pontiac, with 7,000 orders in the first 10 days of availability and 6,000 more orders before winter. The GXP adds a stiffer suspension, a taller axle ratio, standard Stabilitrak traction control, a limited-slip differential, and anti-lock brakes.
