This sweet ride is no trailer queen, either - with a tick over 2400 miles on it, it's clearly built to be driven to all of the shows it's going to win! Suffice it to say that space limitations will apply to how much detail we can go into on this car, because it is one of the most intricately thought out (and executed) custom street rods we've had the pleasure of hosting! There are two giant 3-ring binders with over 1000 photos chronicling the project's build, and a large expandable portfolio full of receipts and operating instructions for many of the parts and systems. The beautiful purple paint is by PPG, and although there is a 'Spray Out Card' with the final color, it does not identify the color code. But don't let that distract you from the exceptional paint and body work - there's nary a ripple or wave, and the finish is smooth as glass. As your eyes wander all over, in, and under this car, you'll notice that virtually everything is either chromed, ceramic coated, or powder coated and buffed to a high gloss. Some of the contributors involved in the build and subsequent additional customization include...

This car comes with a Marti Elite report: according to the Marti report, it is one of only 3 built in its configuration in 1969. Of the 100,085 Mercury Cougars built in 1969, 66,351 were Standard Hardtops. Only 510 of those were equipped with the Ram Air 428CJ-4V engine. 304 were equipped with Automatic Transmissions. Of those, 162 were equipped with the Eliminator Package. 61 of those cars were painted Bright Yellow, and 53 of those cars had Black Hi-Back Bucket Seats. Of those, only 30 were ordered with Hood Pins. 27 of those cars had AM Radios, and of those, only 3 had Manual Steering and Manual Drum Brakes. Those 3 were identically equipped cars ordered out of the Atlanta District Sales Office, and this one is one of those three cars. The original selling dealer was Courtesy Lincoln Mercury in Birmingham, AL. Included with framed Elite Marti Report is a copy of the original window sticker. According to the build specs, its 302 CID V8 features a 1968 C80E iron block (C80E-6015A), which has been treated to a circa 1987-92 Fox Body Mustang's 5. 0L configuration. For you Mopar lovers, this bad boy comes with lots of receipts from what appear to be the person who had it restored (most dated in the 2011 timeframe), along with the original Broadcast Sheet (which is safely housed in a glass-faced picture frame). This classic muscle car radiates a bold presence on the road, capturing the essence of a bygone era marked by power and style. Introduced in 1968 as a trim level for the Plymouth Belvedere, the Road Runner was designed to be a 'no frills' muscle car, just a simple car with a big engine. Trim-wise, it was fit between the highest trim GTX and the slightly lower trim-level Satellite. The Road Runner sold double its expected numbers in the first year, becoming a tremendous success! This Road Runner is painted a dark purple metalflake that's so dark it looks black under most lighting, so whenever you take it to your cruise meets, you'll want to bring some extra lights to shine on it to bring out that sparkle - it's quite something! There's even a slightly lighter purple ghost flame treatment around the blower opening in the hood, which really pops in bright light. The chrome trim has all been treated to the same paint, furthering the 'midnight assassin' look of this gnarly street terrorizer. This Road Runner has taken the concept of 'giant engine in a bare-bones performance car' a few steps further than the norm. For starters, this beast does have the largest displacement engine that could be had in a Mopar in 1969, but the massive 440 CID V8 (that sits...

One thing we're enthralled by in this one is how cool that Marina Blue paint looks in the sun, with its blue metallic flakes creating a bedazzling effect. This is one of the nicer Nova SS units that we've had, with its sheet metal, weather stripping, window felts, chrome, and paint all in such good condition. This bad boy is a real 118-VIN SS, and, according to its owner, features its original sheet metal. Not only that, but it came from the factory as an F-code (Marina Blue) car with a blue bucket seat interior and its 4-speed manual transmission (L-code on cowl tag). This peppy Gasser-style Nova SS is set up just right for those weekends when you want to go vintage drag racing, or load it up to go win some trophies at the car show. Not that it's not street drivable, but with its 4. 10:1 rear axle gears, along with its 26x10. 50-15LT M&H Racemaster slicks and the wheelie bars out back, you'll certainly attract some unwanted attention from folks with badges and guns if you're out tooling around. This beast needs to be seen up close to fully appreciate the custom 'Ruby Slippers' metalflake paint, with its airbrushed tribute to the POW-MIA community. It shines and sparkles like crazy in bright sunlight, yet looks like a dark cabernet in lower light conditions. There are plenty of hidden, and not-so-hidden bonuses with this wicked ride. The custom fiberglass tilt front end releases via the latch pulls in the center of the dash, and lifts up easily with one hand to reveal the 468 CID Reher-Morrison V8, which is topped by a set of fully tweaked Brodix aluminum heads. As is typical of Reher-Morrison built engines, this one is balanced like the rotor in an Patek Philippe: it revs up and comes back down instantly, while providing a sound of fury that most will quickly back away from. Behind the furious 468 is a custom-built 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, tweaked to handle the output of the 468. According to its owner, there were only 400 of these cars ever produced, and of those, this is the last one known to exist. When you think of a classic car that symbolizes the American tradition, the '57 Chevy is that car. This '57 Bel Air has a nice bright red paint job accompanied by a newly refurbished interior that was just redone in 2021. The door panels, seating, headliner, carpet, and dash were redone, and now look better than they did in 1957! This classic 'Tri-Five' is powered by a 350 CID V8 crate engine, which is backed by a column-shifted 700R4 (4-speed) automatic transmission. The 350 is topped by a big Holley 4BBL carb on a high-rise aluminum intake, along with finned aluminum valve covers. Coated headers get the exhaust moving out the dual exhaust setup and add to the looks under hood. The powerplant is further assisted by the serpentine belt drive system, and cooling is handled by a big electric pusher fan...

Sporting a vibrant orange metallic exterior which nicely contrasts with its sleek, black synthetic leather interior. New for 1977, the metallic orange color was also less frequently chosen than the other colors in the palette for that year, which means you're unlikely to see someone else driving one that's like yours. And not that folks are thinking about 1977 Camaros being one to create 'clones' of certain models yet, rest assured the cowl tag on this one does have the Z28 designation, so it's the real deal. Not only is it the real deal, but this 1977 Z28 is better than it ever was, thanks to several efforts undertaken during its restoration. For starters, the paintwork is truly outstanding, and the shut lines and gaps line up better than GM was building these cars back then. The gaps are even, and panels were painstakingly aligned to restore this one to the type of assembled quality in fit and finish that one sees on modern robotically assembled vehicles. This bad boy was disassembled, blasted down to bare metal, and completely refinished top to bottom, including the new complete wiring harness. It even has new window felts and weatherstripping and all new decals....

This heart-stopper is powered by a monster 502 CID V8, which has been upgraded with a Holley Sniper EFI (electronic fuel injection) system. Backing the wicked 502 is a performance-built GM TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. Twist the key, and the big 502 fires to life, shoving the spent hydrocarbons out the coated long tube headers into its side pipe exhaust with a nasty bark. Once it settles into its lopey idle and its pilot takes control of things, the view over the top of that hood becomes so intoxicating that one may not be able stop driving it until it's time to fill the tank. And, on really nice days, take the T-Tops off and enjoy the open air as you cruise around to constant 'thumbs-up' from other drivers. While you're out and about, you'll appreciate the improved handling provided by the new bushings all around, and the stopping power of its 4-wheel disc brakes. This '69 Corvette rides on a set of Cooper Cobra radials (P235/60R15 up front, P295/50R15's out back) on its Rallye Wheels, so it certainly rides better than it did when it was new and sported...

The Colonial White hardtop contrasts nicely with the Willow Green body, providing an alluring color combo. Under the hood is a smooth running 312 CID V8, which is backed by a smooth shifting automatic transmission. According to its owner, the engine and transmission were rebuilt by its previous owner a little over 3000 miles ago, and it certainly drives like the powertrain has been recently redone and broken in properly. In all, this car's restoration seems to have been done by someone who knew their way around a Thunderbird. Inside, the synthetic leather seats are in very good shape, as is the sage...
