1972 was the last year for many things with the most notable being the chrome bumpers. This was also the first year for many things with the most notable being the way HP was recorded. Prior the gross number was used. This is the amount taken straight from the flywheel with no accessories or exhaust. In 1972 the HP rating was with all accessories and exhaust hooked up as well. This was due in large part to trick the insurance agencies into thinking that they had detuned the engines when in fact the motors had just as much power as they did in 71. Unfortunately they caught on making 1972 the last year of real American muscle. Tilt the hood forward and you will see the original SBC 350 with a 4 barrel carburetor sitting on top. Turn the key and it comes to life and sounds absolutely amazing. It is relatively quiet until you hit the gas and then she comes roaring to life.
