1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS

View Description

The consignor believes this beauty to be an original SS. However, for those in the know, that's not's easy to prove unless you have solid paperwork i. e. window sticker or build sheet. Chevrolet only made 2,750 SS Camaro convertibles in 1968 so there aren't many real ones riding around today. What we do know is this is a factory'12467' V8 convertible from the start. View Description

First Gen Camaro lovers get a cup of coffee and sit down because we need to talk. The phrase, 'Barn Find,' may be the most over used automotive description of all time. The original NM L48 350/295hp (V-Flint, MS- manual) (3914678 casting#) engine rests under the iconic 'Ice tray' hood. In addition, the owner states the powerful mill has never been out of the car. This is a factory four speed SS mated to its original 12-bolt rear differential. Camaro enthusiasts will quickly notice the D80 spoiler which debuted in 1968 and became widely popular. This Camaro will generate massive interest and numerous inquires so please pay attention. The frame rails, floor pans, and trunk appear to be very solid. The original trunk mating and spare tire can still be found resting in their proper position. The owner states this First Gen was never wrecked and repainted only once. It's so original it's mind boggling. Does it need some work? Yes. The front suspension bushings are showing their age...
