By the mid 50's Chevy was doing remarkably well considering it had not even been a decade since the end of WWII. As Chevy unveiled their remodeled Bel Air, they also announced their newest member of the family, the Nomad Wagon. The Nomad was Chevy's Station wagon model on and off from 1955 to 1972 but the most memorable ones are these 55 to 57 models dubbed the tri-fives. Their styling has withstood the test of time and these rolling legends are highly sought after today. Here we have a '57 model and a Restomod! The black Dupont paint looks really sharp! Chrome is bright and the panel gaps look straight. Under the hood is a 454ci V8 bored over to a 461ci V8 and the stated 576rwhp is ran down through a Richmond 5-speed manual transmission! She is sporting a 12-bolt rear end, a 3. 08 gear ratio, and Detroit Tru-Trac. The combination of gearing and displacement makes for a nice balance of power and cruising.

The build of this car is extensive, won't be able to list everything but here are many highlights. Car received a frame off restoration per the owner under his ownership. Coil Over Springs were...

The two door Nomad took a completely different approach to a station wagon than many of the era. With its styling cues being basically that of a 2 door hardtop the Nomad would enjoy the same success as the tri fives that it was based off of. Much like the 2 door hardtop models the Nomad is one of the coolest platforms to Restomod. This 57 has been built to enjoy and drive on a daily basis while taking it to high level car shows on the weekend. After a long and well thought out 5 year build the transformation was complete. The body was taken off the original frame and taken down to bare metal before being placed on a powder coated custom frame. The copper gold paint is slick and looks great while keeping with that classic 57 look. Using C4 corvette suspension the ride is sporty with the Bilstein shocks handling anything you can throw at it. The rack and pinion steering is crisp and light feeling with the custom wheels adding to the look and feel. With 4 wheel disc brakes bringing everything to halt in a hurry. Under the hood is all business with aFuel Injected...

The ultimate dream car, built to satisfy your needs of comfortable driving, with a classic touch, but the desire for a fuel injected V8 under the hood, this Nomad is sure to impress you from end to end. Starting from under the hood, we have a fuel injected, 5. 7 LT1 engine, made popular by the Camaro and Trans Am Market during the 90's, these engines are built from the factory to support well over 300 rated horsepower, so driving this car is already as easy as get in, sit down, and turn the key. Mated to this powerhouse V8 is a classic Chevrolet 700R4 transmission, which gives very comfortable and flawless shifts between gears as you cruise down the road. To make these transmissions better, was the inclusion of overdrive, which makes these some of the most popular transmissions used by street rodders across the country. The fun doesn't stop here, of course what would a Restomod Nomad be without air conditioning? This car comes packed full of modern comforts and luxuries required to wear the badge Restomod, including AM/FM Radio and CD Player, as well as some features that simply make the package sweeter, like power windows and a...

This frame off, ground up restored Nomad is as nice as I have ever seen. The restoration of this vehicle was done from 2007 until 2011. The current owner was particular about how and what was done to this car. He cut no corners and spared no expense. He wanted this car to be his childhood dream car, and it is. The exterior is a beautiful Butternut Yellow and is absolutely gorgeous. The top is India Ivory and looks awesome with the overall theme. The interior is Tan Ultra Suede wrapped on the original bench seat and looks like new. The carpet, door skins and dash have all been color matched to the theme. The look of this car is second to none. Under the hood is a 358 CI V8 mated to a 4-speed manual and both were built at the time of the restoration. '55-'57 Chevrolet Bel Airs are American icons- loved back in the day, and perhaps even more today! The Nomads are highly sought after, and even harder to find. Chevrolet produced the first series of the Nomad's from 1955-1957. Elvis was King, the space race was on, and 'I Love Lucy' was prime-time TV. For many enthusiasts, the '57 model is the one to have, with its unmistakable fins, and refined front end. We rarely get one one of these, especially one this nice!

The breath-taking exterior color combination looks stunning, as does the 'don't mess with me' stance. The 225/45R18 front and 295/45R20 tire / wheel combo looks terrific. Open the door and you will be continued to be amazed. The black and gray custom interior looks brand new. The bench seats are gone, replaced with 4 bucket seats. A custom center console runs through the car and the chrome trim holds the headliner in place.

Open the hood and the WOW factor continues. That's a dual quad 383 stroker rated at 430hp /...

If you have never owned a Nomad before I will give you a little history lesson on these wonderful cars. 1955 was the year when these first started being parked in front of the Chevrolet dealership and being advertised as a 2 door station wagon. The Nomad was very well known in its 55-57 form. It was first introduced as a concept at the 1954 Gm Motorama show; they figured it would sell a lot more if it had many similarities as the Bel Air. As a matter of fact it wasn-t uncommon to be called the -Bel Air Nomad-. These cars had a lot of the same trim as the Bel Airs with the front end being almost identical, spears on the fenders, chrome window moldings and wheel covers. They came packed with an overhead valve, high compression, short stroked 265 4. 3 CID V8 which actually remained in production in various forms because of its performance. But this Nomad isn-t packing a 265 carbureted engine, no, no, this thing is packing a Modern LT1 fuel injected turnkey and go engine! The LT1 has 4000 miles since rebuild and is mated to an automatic transmission which makes a great cruiser....
