The VW Beetle was dubbed the 'peoples car' from it's debut with over 21 million cars sold since 1945. This 66 Beetle is more noteworthy because of it's L87 Pearl white exterior over #75 Pigalle, Red leatherette interior. This combination is said to be one of only two colors schemes for the 'Pigalle' VW Beetles. It's said to be a tongue in cheek nod to the red light district of Parris France. The Beetle comes with a 'Certificate of status' from Volkswagen verifying the vin and options. The car arrived to the current owner from it's original port of delivery and long time home of California. So it's a well preserved and rust free example of the breed. However additional love was bestowed on the car. Such as a fresh respray in - factory correct - VW Pearl white, fresh factory correct interior, new color matched wheels and white walled tires, plus rear venetian blinds and a roof and rear hatch luggage rack. The car also has matching red luggage and a highly coveted 1950s picnic kit complete with silverware and dishes inside a red patent leather case. You'd think this attention to detail...
