Gateway Classic Cars showroom is excited to present this glistening Torch Red 1966 Chevrolet II Nova Hardtop Coupe. The Nova name was utilized for the top trim level of Chevrolet's Chevy II compact car and was first used in 1962. In 1966, the Chevy II received a major facelift, with significant changes made to the car's design. The '66-'67 Nova Hardtop Coupes are arguably some of the cleanest-looking 1960s-era cars out there, with their combination of "straights and curves" in the body design (especially the Hardtop Coupe's lack of a B-pillar), and nearly everyone who sees one on the road gives the thumbs up to their occupants. In addition to the physical changes, the 1966 Nova also could be had with a 350HP 327 CID V8, marking the beginning of the Nova as an affordable muscle car. This particular Chevy II started life as a six-cylinder car; but as most restored Novas get treated, this one received a laundry list of upgrade goodies, as well as a serious injection of steroids. This car is powered by a very potent professionally built 500HP 383 CID V8 engine, which is backed by an equally capable 700R4 transmission (with 2800 RPM stall converter), and 3:73:1 gears in its Posi-equipped 12-bolt rear end. A set of coated Doug's Headers scavenge the spent fossils into the muscular-sounding dual exhaust system. The serpentine belt drive for the accessories helps tidy things up nicely in the engine bay, which is very well detailed and clean. Polished intake manifold, polished high-rise valve covers, lots of chrome, a massive, polished aluminum Griffin radiator, Scotts twin electric fans, and adjustable fuel pressure regulator round things out under the metal-reinforced fiberglass cowl hood. The paint and chrome gleam, making this car really stands out from the crowd at car meets. Power front disc brakes hide behind the new Weld Racing Rod Lite aluminum wheels, which are wrapped with 195/65R15 BF Goodrich Advantage T/As. Out back, the 235/60R15 Mickey Thompson E/T Street SS meats have plenty of grip to get this baby hooked up at launch, which is also aided by the addition of CalTracs traction bars and the subframe connectors. Inside the ProStreet Style interior, the carpet is in great shape, as is its synthetic leather seating surfaces and the headliner. A fresh set of AutoGage gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage are nicely integrated in the panel used for the Vintage Air HVAC system's cooling ducts and go a long way to assist the driver in keeping tabs on important stuff under the hood. A TCI ratchet shifter falls neatly under hand for the driver, and ensures clean, snappy shifts. Tunes are provided by an AM/FM/CD head unit with Bluetooth and the Pioneer speakers in the kick panels and rear parcel shelf. This clean, classic 1966 Chevy II Nova Hardtop coupe is ready for street, strip, or show - get yourself a trophy winner before you miss out! Additional features and options on this neat little Nova include Air Conditioning (cold), Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD Radio, Radial Tires, PosiTraction, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, and Tilt Steering Wheel.
