With just under 52,000 original miles this classic Detroit A body was never supposed to be. The Colonnade design was supposed to be introduced in 1972 but due to the workers strike at the GM plants there wasn-t enough time to retool so it was decided to revise the current body one more year. And what a year it would be for Oldsmobile and its Cutlass. With the 442 and Hurst Indy Pace Car performance was synonymous with the Cutlass. This particular 1972 Cutlass S has been in the same family for years. Restored 8 years ago and well cared for with some very nice upgrades for some spirited driving. Restoration included new front and rear suspension and an Oldsmobile 455 cubic inch power plant that was rebuilt with new rods, crank, pistons, bearings, a high lift cam, Edelbrock carb and manifold. The 350 automatic- transmission was also rebuilt with a 2,000 RPM stall torque converter added and a new radiator to keep this beast cool.
