A single family 1971 Ford Mustang. Yes that is right, this car has been in the same family since it was new. With that, practically every part on this car is original, engine, transmission, interior, top, everything. The mileage is believed to be 68,000 original miles. It did receive a repaint of the original Medium Yellow Gold color back in 1988 and has maintained a nice paint job ever since. With -65 being the first official year of the Mustang, some early build cars were called -64. 5- cars, and had unique options. One of those unique options is the 289 CID V8 engine perfectly set under the long, sporty hood. Backing that with a 4-speed manual transmission makes for a great driving experience anywhere you go.

The 289 CID V8 went through a very recent rebuild by D&A General Auto here in Houston, TX roughly less than 500 miles ago. During that rebuild the engine was bored. 30 over & had a race camshaft installed to give it that muscle car loping sound we all love. The engine also features a new high flow Weiand carburetor, electronic ignition, & long tube race headers.

This Stang is painted in Bright Cherry red that shows very well. The car was professionally repainted about a year ago during its frame off restoration and it shows they did a very nice job. The body panels align like they should with minimal gap variation. The exterior body trim, emblems, & window trim is in great condition.

The Cobra SVT Cobra was a high-performance version of the Ford Mustang, considered as top-of-the-line as it was positioned above the Mustang GT and Mach 1 models during its era of production. Starting with the 1996 model year, every Cobra engine was hand-assembled by two-person teams at the Ford Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo, Michigan. Each engine had a label bearing the names and signatures of the two engine builders. In 1996 Ford switched the engine to the new aluminum 4. 6L DOHC modular unit that was smoother and had slightly better fuel economy, but don-t be fooled the Cobra has got lots of bite! All Mustang GTs were adapted from a version of the Ford Mustang V-8 engine. Other than the engine upgrades that Carroll Shelby made, the GT had some significant trim differences from the standard 66 Mustang. The 1966 Mustang GT had a new gas cap and the driving lamps were standard. It also came with racing stripes but did not come with chrome rocker panels or the identifiable chrome trim side scoop that all other 66 Mustang models had.
