The '73 is the last of the chrome bumper Corvettes and the chrome bumper is only on the rear. New bumper laws mandated that impact resistant bumpers be used from here on out. Manufacturers did their best to design good looking front ends, but it would never be the same. Corvette managed it very well and kept one chrome bumper on the rear to retain to that great and recognizable Corvette look. The Corvette was still charging forward with big power from their 454.
