Ok, the year was 1962 and the golly gee whiz attitude of the 1950's slowly shook itself off as the children learned about a small country in the south Pacific and nuclear weapons. Everyone just started living flat out and the big three auto makers responded with Horsepower! Dodge introduced us to the second generation of Dart that was to be a smaller car or compact, smaller, maybe but not under the hood. This classic 1962 Dodge Dart not only looks great in what I believe is a candy red over gold paint but packs a 440 Cubic inch engine with a 727 torque flight transmission. Now The Chrysler Corp. used to like to add terms to their engine size such as 440 Magnum, or Commando or even Super Commando. The owner of this car tells us that the 440 under the hood is a magnum.
