Mercury went through a major restyle in 1965 with a minor facelift in 1966. The cars were leaner, crisper, and more attractive. With a big focus toward a luxury. Mercury was moving up market and management deemed performance out of character for their new vison, so the S-55 trim was removed early in the 66 model year. This makes this car particularly rare! Our 2 door hardtop Monterey presents as a mostly original survivor. With no obvious signs of restoration or modification.
