The Falcon was manufactured from 1960-1970 as a direct competitor to the Chevrolet Corsair and Plymouth Valiant. After extensive market research Ford found that many consumers were looking for a smaller more economical automobile. Their research paid off with almost 457,000 units sold in the first year of production. This second- generation Falcon was built from 1964-65.
