The 1971 model was completely restyled as the largest Mustang model ever produced. Built in three configurations including a hardtop, convertible, and Sports roof. New exterior features included a long hood, hidden wipers, flush mounted door handles, and triple lens taillights showcasing the all-new Mustang into the 1970s. For a few extra bucks one could order a Ram air hood package when they had the optional 351 engine installed. Secondly, if you ordered the sports roof the Mach1/ Boss350 sports interior was also available as an option.
