Introduced in 1968 as a trim level for the Plymouth Belvedere, the Road Runner was designed to be a 'no frills' muscle car, just a simple car with a big engine. Trim-wise, it was fit between the highest trim GTX and the slightly lower trim-level Satellite. The Road Runner sold double its expected numbers in the first year, becoming a tremendous success! This Road Runner is painted a dark purple metalflake that's so dark it looks black under most lighting, so whenever you take it to your cruise meets, you'll want to bring some extra lights to shine on it to bring out that sparkle - it's quite something! There's even a slightly lighter purple ghost flame treatment around the blower opening in the hood, which really pops in bright light.
