1968 Plymouth Road Runner

Up for sale is one of the most iconic muscle car's ever created, the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. High performance and low cost were Plymouth’s design goals for a brand-new model in 1968. The company believed that the time was right for a factory hot rod for the youth market, and its guess was right on the money. It would have the macho name of Road Runner. It was also a very "B Body" budget-friendly machine which made it another very important reason for purchasing. A member of the Belvedere line, the Road Runner for sale came with a stock 383 CID V8 engine making 335 horsepower. But that was just the beginning, the awesome 440 monster MOPAR engine would find its home in this Plymouth for sale. Making just shy of 450 horsepower, the big block is equipped with 62 CC cylinder heads with big valves. A .480 lift MOPAR purple camshaft replaced the old stock one. A Performer RPM intake and very large Demon carburetor found itself nestled on top this fire breathing bird. The killer power plant is backed by the world famous TorqueFlite 727 - 3 speed automatic. A 3500 stall converter and shift kit transfers all the power to an 8 3/4" rear end.
