This sharp GT coupe has been extremely well preserved and is in shocking condition. A Los Angeles 71 DSO car, it then made its way to Colorado, before coming to the St. Louis area in 2003. The vehicle is believed to have its original sheet metal all around as well as original interior. Optioned with Wimbledon white exterior, with red Pony interior, this GT is very well dressed. It wears a sharp new set of GT style wheels wrapped in healthy radial tires. Inside, the red pony upholstery is in surprisingly great shape. The carpet has been replaced, so it looks nice and fresh.
Pop the hood and you’ll find a rebuilt 289 with a slightly larger cam than stock. It has power steering and manual disc brakes. Originally a C4 automatic, the transmission has been swapped out for a Tremec T-5 5 speed manual transmission. This transforms the car into a comfortable highway cruiser that will sip fuel when loafing down the highway. The 289 make a nice exhaust note coming through nickel plated headers and dual exhaust. And of course, nothing beats the looks of GT exhaust trumpets. Whether you’re an avid Mustang collector, or just looking for your first classic, a 66 Mustang is always a great choice.
