The LT4 is a big deal and in a way was Chevrolet's secret as it was heavily underrated in an attempt to not outshine the upcoming LS1 for 1997 in the C5 Corvette. Some sources claim the LT4 to produce horsepower near the 380 mark, far above the 330 factory rating. The LS1 was rated at 345. The LT4 was the same engine that was installed in all 1996 Grand Sports. This was also a replacement for the more complicated and expensive LT5 ZR-1 engine. The LT4 was a one year only engine option and is without question the most desirable and affordable of special C4 Corvettes.
This beautiful example is painted in Polo Green and is paired perfectly with a Light Beige leather interior and a beige soft top. Shifting gears is accomplished via six speed manual, which also happens to be the only available transmission for the LT4. Equipment is plentiful and includes traction control, power leather seats, Cruise control, Four wheel ABS disc brakes, Dual airbags and more. Mileage is original and showing 68,445. The car has tasteful upgrades including chrome wheels and an aftermarket exhaust system. These pipes really let the LT4 breathe without being too loud.
