For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Road Runner tribute. The Satellite started life off as a six cylinder column shift. After many many hours of blood sweat and tears, the car is now an incredible Road Runner tribute show car. Power for this Plum Crazy comes from a well built 383 and shifts through a 727 TorqueFlite automatic and back to a strong 8 3/4 rear end. The restoration was completed in 1997 but still looks as if it was done last year. The car was mostly trailered to car shows for judging and has only covered a little over 300 miles.
1971 was first year of the third generation of the Satellite and 2nd generation for the Road Runner. The update included a major redesign and included all new body and interior. The convertible was dropped and this would be the last year that you could order a 440-6 pack or the Hemi. 1972 would introduce a big cut in power and engine choices making the 1971 one of the last great muscle cars from MOPAR. Don't miss out on this very well restored Road Runner tribute. This one is ready for the open road or to continue the show circuit.
