For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is an original 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Hemi. Yes, it is a real Hemi car! Included with the sale is the car's original broadcast sheet and it is in incredible condition. This car is nearly a total survivor. The original engine is long gone, but a MOPAR performance crate Hemi is in place of the original and is topped with a set of date coded four barrel carburetors. The odometer is reading 51,446 and is true to the car, but not the engine. Backing up that ever so awesome 426 HEMI is a 727 Torque-Flight automatic transmission and back to a correct Dana rear with 4.10 gears. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? It is. The White paint and Blue vinyl interior are believed to be original and still look great. Hemi cars were rare in the muscle car days as they are today and were not normally driven as regularly as your more common 383 Road Runner or any other muscle car. This helps a great deal with the preservation of such an awesome car. Equipment includes Power steering, Power brakes, and bucket seats with middle buddy seat. The original steel wheels with dog dish hub caps are gone and in place is a great looking set of Magnum 500s. The rears have BF Goodrich Drag Radials with standard radials up front. In the April 2002 issue of MOPAR collector's guide is a nice feature on this very car. A copy of the magazine that is also in good condition, accompanies the sale. For more information on one of the baddest cars to ever leave Detroit in the height of the muscle car era, call 618-271-3000 or stop by our St. Louis showroom.
