Options for this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior, Wide White Wall Radial Tires, and Hub Caps. Powering this 57' Nomad is the original and smooth running 283 CID V8 engine that has been converted to a 12 volt system. A "3 on the tree" 3-speed manual transmission transfers the power to the 10 bolt rear end, and to the pavement. This 3 owner Nomad was owned by the second owner from 1961 to 2009. It was bought in 2009 and restored to its current condition. Approximately 2,000 miles have been enjoyed since the restoration was complete, which includes an engine rebuild. The Adobe Beige over Sierra Gold base coat/clear coat paint was applied 5 years ago, and shimmers beautifully in the sunlight. The vinyl interior has been restored to original specs and looks legit. This Nomad also sports wide white wall radial tires with classic hub caps to provide the authentic and appropriate look. The two-door Nomad stood apart from other station wagons available in the same time period due to its hardtop sedan styling. It was in fact GM brass that approved the production of the Nomad only if the design could carry the same traits as the standard model. They thought they could sell more cars if they closely resembled the Bel Air. It was not uncommon for the car to be named and referred to as the Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad after its debut in 1955.
