For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 1972 Ford Mustang convertible. The odometer reads 69,837, which is believed to be original miles to the car. Options for this 1972 Ford Mustang convertible include: Automatic Convertible Top, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. Powering this 72' Mustang drop top is the original 250 CID straight six cylinder engine. The carburetor, alternator, starter, were all rebuilt, the valves were ground, new seals were installed, new valve seats were installed to allow for unleaded fuel, and timing chain and gears. About 10,000 miles ago this Mustang received a host of other new parts and including: fuel pump, fuel sending unit, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil pump, fuel tank, shocks, wheels and tires, and an exhaust manifold. The original C4 automatic transmission was also serviced at this time including a fluid swap and new filter. The black interior, black vinyl top, and black accents provide a perfect back drop to the bright red exterior paint. Of the 125,093 Mustangs produced in 1972, only 6,121 of them were convertibles. The 1972 Mustangs were very similar to the 71' Mustangs. The easiest identifier is the rear decklid Mustang lettering: the 71' Mustang had Mustang lettering that ran across the entire decklid while the 72' Mustang featured the Mustang script above the right taillights. This 72' Mustang convertible has been road tested since all the new parts and freshening up have been completed, to the tune of 10,000 miles to be exact.
