This Torch Red Z06 is complimented with chrome wheels and black and red two tone leather interior. Powering this high performance machine is an all aluminum 5.7 liter V8 that goes by the name, LS6. Many will recall the LS-6 from the muscle car era that powered Chevelles and Corvettes. These were some of the most powerful engines offered in 1970-1971. GM had to make sure that the new LS6 would live up to its reputation. In doing so GM gave the new LS6 a high lift camshaft, a redline that goes up to 6,500 rpm vs. the 6,000 rpm redline for the standard Corvette. The new one is producing 385 horsepower and will propel the Corvette to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.7 seconds at 113 mph! All this performance and it is still able to net you 28 miles per gallon while on the highway. This would of course require you to resist smashing the go pedal. With the Z06 package, you received suspension tuning, one inch wider wheels for the front and rear, titanium exhaust that saved 19 pounds fomr the stainless steel that was used on the standard model and brake ducting for both the front and rear brakes. This example has covered 96,962 miles. It runs like a dream and is fitted with aftermarket exhaust and almost new tires.
