Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very handsome and quite rare 1949 GMC Model 250 5 Window, 1 ton, long bed pickup. GMC referred to this 5 window set up as the "Nue Vue" 5 window. The curved rear glass allowed for much better reward visibility which was great for a long bed typically used for loading/unloading. This particular 1 ton Model 250 sports a pickup long bed with removable wooden bed sides for tall loads. The truck was professionally restored in 2008. The truck was always extremely solid and retains its original sheet metal. The original engine was rebuilt and has hardly been driven since. Some nice upgrades were made at the time of restoration such as converting it to a 12 volt system and replacing the original glass with safety glass. The body was smoothed and finished in its original Pimpernal Scarlet color. The bed has all new oak slats and stainless strips. Nothing beats the look of a wood pickup bed. The truck is in wonderful shape from stem to stern. The engine bay is clean and tidy just as it would've came in '49, the interior is gorgeous and even features a working retro radio. This is a truck most people didn't take the care to preserve. These were work horses that were used and abused. It's very rare to see an example like this that was well maintained and lovingly restored. This would be a neat truck to take to shows as an educational piece, or even a great vehicle to use as advertising. A company logo would look great painted on each door and the truck could be used for deliveries or simply as a rolling billboard. You can see this neat truck in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom, or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please call 618-271-3000 or email with any questions.
