1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a very original fifth generation 1986 Oldsmobile 442. The fifth generation of Oldsmobile 442 was revived in 1985, its production last 3 model years, and discontinued in 1987. The 442 in this generation referred to the 4-Speed 200R4 automatic transmission, 4-barrel carburetor, and the dual exhaust. Options for this 1986 Oldsmobile 442 include: Air Conditioning, Alpine AM/FM Radio with CD Player, T-Tops, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior, Radial Tires, and Rally Wheels. Powering this 86' 442 is the numbers matching 307 CID LG8 V8 engine. The original 200R4 automatic transmission transfers the power to the 8.5" 10 bolt rear end which houses 3.73 gears. The odometer reads 45,496, and those are the original miles to both the car and the powertrain. The black over silver two tone original exterior paint shows very well considering the age and the amount of miles it has traveled. The gray interior, including the cloth seats, is in excellent condition. The coolest part about this 442 has to be the glass T-Tops. Quick to remove and easy to store in the trunk, these T-Tops provide an awesome look to an otherwise normal looking Oldsmobile Cutlass body. The fifth generation 442 utilized the G-Body Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and featured an upgraded F41 suspension. In its first year of production 3,000 442's were produced and were sold very quickly. Just over 4,200 were produced in both 1986 and 1987. The 442 package included a more performance based powertrain, 15X7 chromed steel wheels with gold accents, rear manual-inflated air shocks, 2 tone signature paint theme (with silver always on the bottom), gold body pinstripe and 442 decal kit, dual-snorkel air cleaner featuring a chrome top, and all 442's came mandatory with air conditioning. 442s were not limited to only these options however as they could be ordered with much of the optional equipment found on other Cutlass models.
