1954 Ford F100

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer a gorgeous 1954 Ford F100. The F-Series pickup truck line may be the most successfully selling automobile of all time. The "half ton" line started in 1948 with the F1 and still continues today with the 2015 F150. This beautiful Ford F100 would have been rather utilitarian when it rolled off the assembly line. Manual steering, brakes, windows, and a manual transmission would've come standard. This truck has been lovingly restored and is much more comfortable, and well equipped than is was in '54. In stock form these trucks ride pretty rough, but this one has a Mustang II front end which features coil springs and power rack and pinion steering. This improves the ride considerably and allows for front disc brakes. Powering the truck is a EFI 5.0L V8 backed by a Ford AOD 4 speed automatic transmission. The truck has a 10 bolt rear end with 3.73 final drive ratio. This truck is certainly a head turner with the bright yellow paintjob. The finish is smooth and glossy and really shows off the lines on this old Ford. The bed has been finished in Oak with chrome and even upholstered bed sides. A very unique touch was adding a real glass panel in the tailgate to show off the nicely finished bed. This isn't a beater to run to Home Depot with; this is a show truck. The interior has been beautifully upholstered in matching yellow which contrasts well with the reptile print vinyl. The dash is painted to match the interior and has been fitted with custom gauges. The truck has a custom tilt steering column with a Boyd Codington steering wheel. It comes equipped with AM/FM/CD (hidden in glove box), seat belts, power steering, and chrome wire wheels wrapped in raised white letter tires. This is a truck that has the modern amenities to make it very comfortable on the road. You can easily drive it to a car show, possibly win a prize, and then drive it home.
