For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 1950 GMC 100 pickup. Painted in a classic red and black two tone with brown vinyl interior. This truck was treated to a frame off restoration in 2005 that included rebuilding the suspension, brakes and of course disassembling everything, cleaning priming and painting. The original 228 inline 6 and 4 speed manual transmission were in great running condition, so they were left alone. The GMC 228 cubic inch inline six made 96 horsepower compared to the Chevy's 90 horsepower 216 cubic inch inline 6. They also featured a stronger frame and different colors, hub caps, grille and tailgate that were specific to GMCs. In 1950, GM also did away with bolting the cab and decided to weld the cab to help reduce road noise and vibrations that are attributed to the stronger frame. Here is an opportunity to own a nicely restored hard to find GMC. To view the GMC in greater detail, including an HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our St. Louis showroom.
