For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a very sleek 1968 Chevrolet Corvette coupe. America's love affair with the Corvette had been strong since the cars release in 1953, but it was renewed once again in 1968 with the newest generation. Belgium born American engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov was named Chief Engineer of the Corvette in 1968, and it was many of his ideas that made the C3 generation so great. The C3 generation featured a new coke bottle body style that featured hidden wipers, rounder bodylines over the fenders, and removable t-tops and rear glass for coupes. The latest C7 generation of the Corvette is exciting, but offers only 2 trim levels. In 1968 there was a smorgasbord of 7 different engine choices! From a smooth and reliable 327 to a fire breathing 427 with aluminum heads. This '68 Coupe features the 327 CID V8 which was rated at 300 HP. Though this was the base engine for its year, it produces quite a bit more power than many might expect. Power delivery is smooth especially when mated with and automatic transmission. This coupe is covered in a coat of elegant Silverstone Silver paint and inside you'll find a timeless black interior with vinyl seating. For a classic look the Vette sits on Corvette Rally wheels wrapped in redline tires. Options include A/C, AM/FM Radio, T-tops, power brakes, power steering, seat belts, vinyl interior, and radial tires.
