For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner! This brilliant, long bodied muscle car is powered by a 383 CID V8 big block engine and backed by a 4-spd manual Hurst transmission. 1968 was the first year for the Roadrunner. The car was created because Plymouth wanted a car that was able to run 14-second times in the quarter mile and sell for less than US$3000. Both goals were met, and the low-cost muscle car hit the street. The success of the Road Runner would far outpace the upscale and lower volume GTX, with which it was often confused. This Roadrunner is painted in a metallic blue and has light blue interior. The rear end is comprised of an 8 3/4 with 3.23 gears. Other options include: AM radio, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires and Magnum 500 wheels. The mileage on the car is undocumented but the odometer reads 58,761 miles. However, this Roadrunner went through an extensive restoration in 2002. New to the car is long tube headers and a performance camshaft making this Plymouth sound great and run even better. If you are looking for a classic car that mixes styling and performance, look no further.
