This Mach 1 is a real R code and the engine and transmission are believed to be original to the car. The date codes are correct and the VIN is stamped on the rear of the engine and the top of the transmission. The odometer reads 47,088 which is believed to be actual mileage on this three owner beauty. The original owner bought the car, went to war and was captured as a POW for an extended period of time. He sold the car to the second owner in 1972 upon his return. The second owner sold the car to the third and current owner of the vehicle in 1993 and it has since undergone a 100% nut and bolt restoration. All painted items were stripped to bare metal, treated, coated with PPG's epoxy primer, and painted. Everything on the car was rebuilt, restored, or replaced.
