Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale invites you to feast your eyes on what we have for sale, on consignment, the 1929 Studebaker Dictator. Back in 1927 Studebaker decided to rename their products and the Dictator was chosen. It was implied that the model "dictated the standard" that other auto makers would be obliged to follow. Then in 1937 with the rise of Nazism in Germany, Studebaker decided to ditch the name all together. This Dictator is definitely something it never knew it could be, as you could imagine, a resto-mod Studebaker from the late 20's is surely in a category all its own. Under the bonnet is a 5.7 Liter 350 cubic inch V8 with Tuned Port Injection and that is mated to a 3 speed automatic transmission. Approximately 8500 miles have been put on the rebuilt motor and trans since being installed. The two tone beige and black exterior reminds you that bright and vibrant colors weren't a thing back then and the beige interior contrasts well with the black. Back when things we pretty bare bones in terms of amenities, this one provides a touch of modern while retaining much of the original look of the car. Features include A/C, AM/FM/CD Radio, Cloth Interior, Lap Belts, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows (using the original window cranks to operate), Tilt Column, Custom Exhaust, Wire Wheels and Radial Tires. This Dictator cruises comfortably down the road with the modern reliability and some much welcomed added power. It's easy to forget that you are driving around a 93 year old car! Give our sales staff a call for all the details on how to make this one part of your collection today!
