In 1958, four years after the birth of the Corvette, Chevrolet wanted to continue its success with simple yet significant changes. Contrasting the original bumpers which were fastened to the front and rear panels, the new prominent 58 Chrome bumpers were bracketed to the frame, freeing up any weight that might have been “free-floating." In addition to the “more chrome, longer body" mindset, the front end also featured two “holes" for blasting the front brakes with air, a new technology. Chevrolet replaced the single headlight look with a dual headlight design, accentuated by a chrome body line that runs between front headlights and rear body for an elegant and refined presence. The 283cubic inch V8 features fuel injection and a manual transmission making for a great day on the road. The interior was also updated for 1958, including placing the tach, fuel, oil, battery, and speedometer in front of the driver this car has been updated with new aftermarket Autometer gauges. Seatbelts were also factory installed instead of dealer installed for the first time. The chrome bubble roll bar surrounding the front windshield is strong and shining while the windshield itself shows no cracks or chips. The durable Light Blue vinyl pleather seats look like they could last another 50 years while the door panels feature an intricate “metal weave" looking design that pays homage to the 50s. The car has several modern additions like an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and Air conditioning and power front disc brakes.
