Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is very excited to offer this nicely redone 1930 Ford Model A Pickup. As the Model T and TT became obsolete and needed to be replaced, Henry Ford began initial designs on the Model A and Model AA trucks in 1926. Basic chassis layout was done rapidly and mechanical development was moved forward quickly. Body design and style was developed and then outsourced to various body manufacturers, including Briggs and Murray. The designs of the Model A trucks shared a lot of the same parts and materials with the Model A Ford cars, most notably the body, engine and interior. The AA's usually received plainer interiors than their car counterparts, but in this instance, the interior seating, door panels and headliner have all been recovered. The Model A trucks also followed similar design changes to the Model A cars during the AA's four years in production. This 1930 Ford Model AA Pick-up has a 201CID Inline 4-cylinder motor mated to a three-speed manual transmission and has been refitted to a 12 volt system with a modern alternator as well as an Optima red top battery. The body was painted a deep blue and black fenders & running boards, with the 21" 30 spoke wheels powder coated in in a nicely contrasting Steel Rack Yellow & wrapped in some newer Firestone 4 ply rubber. There is an entire folder of restoration work completed from 2019-2020 by Team CJ Works, out of Austin, TX, that will transfer to the new owner. The wood in the bed & the stakes all show well, the mechanicals are all sound and this 1930 Ford Pickup is ready for leisurely evening cruises or a drive into the local car show!
