Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this 1965 Ford Mustang GT. The Mustang has been a phenomenon since its introduction in 1964. Considered Fords longest running production car as the nameplate is still used today. With over one million units sold in the first two years the Mustang is truly an American success story. The car was delivered new in Vintage Burgundy with the Black Crinkle Vinyl luxury interior option. The '65 GT had several noticeable features making it easily recognizable like the GT gas cap, trumpet exhaust, special GT stripes and MUSTANG lettering, GT badge, disc brakes, and GT fog light bar. Interior equipment includes a custom center console, an air conditioning system, lap belts, and manual-crank windows, JVC high-power radio, and Mustang rubber floor mats to protect the carpet. Power comes from the 302CID V-8 under the hood with a Holley carburetor and mid-length headers and delivers the power to the rear wheels through a 5-Speed manual transmission. The three-spoke wood rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a 140-mph speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges that include oil and water temperature gauges, battery amps, a fuel gauge and 8k-rpm tachometer and analog clock mounted to the steering column in the Rally-Pac gauge set. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, although true mileage is unknown. If you are looking for an American Muscle classic, this 1965 Mustang GT could be the car for you.
