Vinyl InteriorThis 1957 Chevrolet BelAir Nomad Wagon is being shown off at the Gateway Classic Cars showroom in San Antonio/Austin. By the mid 50's Chevy was doing remarkably well considering it had not even been a decade since the end of WWII. As Chevy unveiled their remodeled Bel Air, they also announced their newest member of the family, the Nomad Wagon. The Nomad was Chevy's Station wagon model on and off from 1955 to 1972, but the most memorable ones are these "Tri-Five" models. Their styling has withstood the test of time and these rolling legends are highly sought after today. Originally done in Inca silver over a black and red interior, this Nomads life has been changed in the form of paint job in Red Pepper Quintessence with a white roof. The interior has also been updated with a fresh looking red and white vinyl interior, with power bucket seats in the front and a bench seat for the back. The engine in this classic cruiser will throw you back in the seat with approx. 340hp coming from a 350CID V-8 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that is pushing power to the rear wheels with a 12-bolt limited-slip rear-end. Under the hood has been touched up nicely with features such as an Edelbrock intake, long-tube headers, Mattson aluminum radiator with 2 electric fans, electric fuel pump with a manual in-line Mallory fuel pressure gauge, MSD ignition and a Quadrajet carburetor. The two-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, battery voltage, coolant temperature and fuel level. (There is an A/C system set up in this vehicle, but it is only blowing warm). This '57 Nomad is a blast from the past and is ready to drive you into the future!
