Gateway Classic Cars proudly presents this exceptional 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury located at our Philadelphia showroom! 1964 was a tremendous year for Chrysler with the 426 Hemi stepping onto the muscle car scene as well as an impressive lineup of gorgeous vehicles including the Sport Fury. Sales steadily improved thanks to a restyling of the car which featured a new slanted roof. This stunning Plymouth Sport Fury is perhaps one of the nicest that you will see and possesses a powerplant that will knock the socks off of the competition. Featuring a 440 block that has been transformed into a 505 CID Wedge, this monster engine has a Scat Stroker kit from Muscle Motors which also completed all machine and balance work. The 505 Wedge has been bored to 4.350 and stroked to 4.250 with an 11:1 compression ratio. Perhaps one of the coolest aspects of this engine is the fact that the legendary Dick Landy is credited with building the dual Holley 780 CFM carburetors with vacuum secondaries! Dougs 2†ceramic coated headers coupled to 3" pipes and Magnaflow mufflers that deliver the exhaust which sounds delightfully menacing. A switch allows you to control the exhaust exiting the side or the rear, the choice is yours! Coupled to this mammoth engine is a smooth Chrysler four-speed manual transmission that connects to the 8 ¾ rear end with factory 3:73 gears!
How about the paint?! With a mirror-like finish, you would be surprised to know that this paint is 20 years old! With a shine and depth like that, you would think it was done last week! Billet Specialties chrome and aluminum five-spoke wheels sit on BF Goodrich tires on the front and a fat pair of Mickey Thompson drags in the rear. Take a look underneath and you’ll see the original factory undercoating!
Lastly, the interior in this beast is as gorgeous as the outside. The dashboard is brand new and all parts were bought from Specialty Bill of Chicago who specializes in 1962-65 B-bodies. Admire the beautiful instrument panel that features a factory tachometer. Pearl white seats pair nicely with the red interior done by Legendary Interiors Custom Shop. Wrap your hands around the Budnik steering wheel and hold on, because you will be rocketed down the street or strip! There is so much car here and it is going to take the right person to handle it all. Is it going to be you? Make your Mopar dreams a reality and ensure that this becomes the new addition to your garage! Additional features include new trunk cardboard package, new trunk mat, new side moldings with aluminum tape, new rear light tail bezels, QAI front end shocks, Power Steering, Power Brakes, MSD Ignition, SBC Billet Aluminum Duel Master Cylinder, Bull Dog Aluminum Heads, Harlen Sharp Roller Rockers, A&A Transmissions Max Wedge Intake Manifold, BeCool Aluminum Radiator, Milodon Oil Pan and March Performance Pulleys.
