More Pictures and a Video are Coming Soon. We thank you for your patience. Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting this 1969 F100 with a 428 Police Interceptor Motor! This all original and highly documented 41,000 mile, 1969 F100 Ford ranger Explore is extremely unique and rare. It is very rare to find a truck like this in all original condition. The paint is a special order code D which is Tuscan gold. What is even more rare is to find a Ranger with a dactory added Explorer Package. In 1975 the 428 Police Interceptor motor from a Virginia ATF (Alcohol-Tobacco-Firearms) car was added, they put a transgo towing shift kit in the C6 Transmission. They also split the original wheels and widened to run wider tires. Thankfully, the wheels still retain the original and rare explorer caps. The motor was pulled again in 2014 to regasket the Block and all internals were documented and confirmed to be a low mileage original 405 T code, 428 Police Interceptor Motor. Also in 2014, they had the original starter and alternator rebuilt. All new gaskets, seals, freeze out plugs, brake hoses, radiator hoses, spark plugs and wires, timing chain and tires were all new. AC compressor in excellent condition and turns freely. This truck left the factory with air-conditioning. The interior is in great condition including the factory rubber Ford floormat. This truck comes documented with a Marti report, full documentation to support the low mileage and also an interesting history of ownership. The windshield in this truck is the original and it has a crack. It can be seen in photo # 28.
The 69 F100 was originally purchased in Dublin Virginia at Dick Price Ford in Radford VA notice the dealer tag still remains on the tailgate. The buyer owned it for a couple of years until he traded it in.This is where the story gets interesting this F100 was purchased by a gentleman from Steelman Motors in Virginia. He and his father built many race cars in the 40's and 50's. They built cars that ruled the circle dirt tracks pre NASCAR. Some of the drovers included Bobby Isaac, Ken Rush, Curtis Turner, Pee Wee Jones, Ned Jarrett and Ralph Earnhardt (Dale's Father) to name a few. And the history goes on to.....
