To mark the Corvettes 25th anniversary, some notable improvements were made. 1978 Corvettes had a new fastback roofline and rear window. These changes enhanced the Corvette's sleek silhouette. The new and improved rear window improves visibility for the driver and adds extra storage space. Inside, there is also room for storage of the removable roof panels. The '78 Vette's fuel Capacity has been increased from 17 to 24 gallons. The instrument panel has also been restyled and features face-mounted, round, easy to read instruments. The 1978 Corvette does not have the same performance level as some Corvettes but make no mistake the famous Corvette handling is still there and the performance is adequate.
