Just 6,502 of these very special Black and Silver Corvette models were ever produced, each with a unique VIN sequence, this is 4764. The 25th anniversary Corvette was treated to one of the most extensive redesigns of the Corvette since the 1968 model. The new “fastback†rear end styling featured a large rear window, reminiscent of the lines of the '60s. The interior of the 1978 Pace Car sported a special “clam shell†seat. This Pace Car Edition includes the sought-after L82 350 CI engine with an automatic transmission. The L82 was designed as a high-performance engine, featuring a 9:1 compression ratio that generated 220 horsepower. The L82 engine had larger heads and valves, four-bolt mains, forged-steel crank, different pistons and aluminum intake. With only 8,423 miles, this Corvette is very original with a like-new interior. Other desirable options include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, tilt-telescopic steering column, AM/FM radio, cruise control, and polished aluminum Rally Wheels.
