In 1999 Ford changed the body style of the Mustang. The 94 to 98 Mustang had increased sales across the board and the 1999 redesign was highly anticipated by Mustang enthusiast. Just like in previous years Ford’s SVT Division fit a 4.6 DOHC engine into the Cobra offering. The engine received a new tumble-port cylinder-head design that improves combustion efficiency and helps bump output to 320 hp at 6000 rpm and 317 pound-feet of torque at 4750. That's an increase of 15 hp and 17 lb-ft over last year's Cobra. The owner of this Cobra also added a Vortech Supercharger, professionally installed to maximize performance. Power hits the pavement by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and Independent Rear Suspension. The 1999 Cobra was the first production Mustang with IRS.
