The C5's feature the legendary LS1 5.7L V8 that in Corvette trim comes with an aluminum block and 350hp at your disposal. The transmission was re engineered to be a transaxle located at the rear of the car to provide almost 50/50 weight distribution allowing the C5 to keep up with its European and Japanese competitors. Even though the C5 had plenty of horsepower on tap, good looks, and exceptional handling characteristics it was also a very comfortable cruiser with upgraded suspension that was heads and tails above the harsher riding C4 generation.
