Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this fun little 1959 Austin Healey Sprite. Often called a "Bugeye" or "Frogeye" Sprite, these little roadsters were produced from 1958-1961 and have garnered an almost cult like following. While most cars of the day were a body on frame construction the Sprite featured unibody construction. This bright blue example has a track oriented setup with a roll bar and an assortment of decals from typical race sponsors of the day. These cars make great racecars because of their light weight and handling characteristics. The horsepower may not be a huge figure, but with a proper 4 speed manual and the wind in your hair, it certainly is an exhilarating ride. Under the front tilt clamshell hood is a 948 cc inline 4 factory rated at 43 horsepower and 52 lb ft of torque. With it’s close slick shifting 4 speed manual imagine how this little bugeye can get up and go! According to the owner recent work to this car includes new wiring harness, electronic distributor, carb & intake, brakes and more. If you’re looking for a fun classic roadster to zip around town in this is the one you want to own! Options include spare tire, hub caps, jack, vinyl interior, seat belts and front disc brakes.
