The L-82 V8 was rated at 210 horsepower which was 30 horsepower more than the base L-48 V8. This 1976 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by its numbers matching L-82 350 CID V8 engine and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with 60,185 actual miles! In 1976, Chevrolet made a few changes to the Corvette from the previous model year to help reduce cabin noise. The first was an air induction modification to the hood that pulled air in above the radiator and into the air cleaner duct reducing wind turbulence noise previously caused by the "Cowl Induction" hood system. The second was a partial steel underbody that replaced fiberglass to improve the rigidity and also to help shield the cabin from engine and exhaust heat and road noise.
