Vinyl InteriorThe year was 1962. Ford’s Lee Iacocca tasked chief engineer Donald Frey with the development of a new “small carâ€. There were five specific stipulations. It would seat four, have bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds and be no more than 180 inches in length. The target selling price was $2,500! The Mustang debuted in 1964 and was an immediate hit. The 1967-68 model year marked the first major styling change, producing a larger vehicle all around capable of holding the available big-block power plants. This sharp 1968 red fastback underwent a rotisserie restoration in 2011 including a replacement 351 Cleveland engine mated to a C-4 Automatic transmission and 3.00 rear end.Additional features include power steering, AM/FM Cassette and Rally Wheels. The gorgeous red paint sets off the black interior forming a classic combination. Look closely at the engine bay photos. This beautiful powerplant runs as smooth as it looks!
