Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1968 Chevrolet Impala SS 427. The Impala name plate has been produced on and off by Chevrolet as a full-sized model since 1958. Chevrolet introduced the Impala SS in 1961 as a performance package equipped both trim and upgraded suspension and engine upgrades. In 1968 the Impala received a face lift including a new front end and a new formal roof line on the two-door models. The 427 Turbo-Jet engines made a return producing an astonishing 385hp. The 1968-69 Impala Super Sport package was an extra cost option that would not breath life again until the 1990s. Making the 68-69 Impala highly desirable in the muscle car market.
This breathtaking 1968 Chevrolet Impala SS painted in Tuxedo Black with a matching black vinyl interior. Rally wheels, red-line tires, black vinyl roof and a special SS hood/ grille makes this Impala one great looking car. Under the hood is the 427 Turbo-Jet V-8 attached to a four-speed manual transmission. Factory upgraded suspension, reinforced chassis, power steering, power disk brakes and a Postract rear axle are great additions when it comes to handling the power from the 427. “SS” flavor continues to the interior with bucket seats, center console, SS cluster w/tach and a comfort tilt steering wheel.
Many great looking muscle cars were produced but few have the eye-popping great looks of the 1968 Chevrolet Impala SS. This black beauty will always turn a head or two whether your out for a Sunday drive or showing it off at a car show.
