Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is proud to present this 1972 Pontiac GTO. The Pontiac Lemans was marketed from 1961 to 1981 and the GTO name plate started life as an upgrade trim package on the Lemans. Eventually becoming a stand-alone model in 1963 for the 1964 model year. This 1969 Lemans is considered a third-generation model which ran from 1968-1972. Considered by many to be the poster child starting what has become the muscle car segment. As it was offered with a 400 or 455 V-8 and a choice of either a manual or automatic transmission. In 1968 the GTO was recognized as Motor Trends Car of the Year.
This 1972 Pontiac GTO is an original “X" code car with a total of 310 units built. Painted in Lucerne Blue accented with a gorgeous set of Pontiac honeycomb alloy wheels. A standout rear spoiler, “GTO" graphics and a Ram Air scooped hood add to this GTO's sporty good looks. Under the hood is a 455ci. H.O. V-8. A M-22 four-speed transmission is attached to a 12-bolt 3:55 gear ratio posi rear end. The power brakes consist of front disks and rear drums. Additional features are power steering and an AM/ FM/ cassette radio.
The curb appeal on this 1972 Pontiac GTO is second to none. A real head turner from any angle.
