Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is proud to present our featured Mustang which represents the first year of the now ledgendary Fox body era. Debuting for the 1979 model year, the Fox body Mustangs was well received proved to be much more popular than the short lived Mustang II that proceeded it. The new Fox body platform was so well versed it was used for 14 different Ford produced vehicles. In 1979 the Mustang was chosen to be the Offical Pace Car of the Indy 500. This special car is one of the replicas that was sold to the public to commemerate that achievement , wearing the silver and black paint with the red and orange rally strips and two tone black and white cloth sets. The Mustang is powered by a 5.0 liter Ford V-8 engine with a 4 barrel carb and intake linked to a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Other features include a pop up sunroof, 3-spoke steering wheel, 3-spoke alloy rims wrapped around Michelin 220/55 VR390 tires. The car was also upgraded with an OEM air conditioning unit that blows cold, SSBC rear disc brakes, H&R lowering springs and the car was also updated with NOS rear window louvers.
