SeatbeltsGateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee presents this legendary 1965 Shelby Cobra Replica by Backdraft Racing. The Cobra name has long been synonymous racing, performance, and motor sports. In 1962 Carrol Shelby teamed up with Ford for their racing engines and AC from Britain that developed a body suitable to cradle and V8 engine and hit the track. From there a racing legend was born! In the 1960s there few cars that had the ability to compete with a Shelby Cobra in speed and brute power. This was proved in 1966 when one of Carrol Shelby's Ford powered cars won the 24 hours of Lemans race, beating out Italian rivel Ferrari.
The Cobra body has been reproduced many times over the years, but there are none finer than the Backdraft Racing body. Our featured car is painted in an attention-grabbing Racing Yellow complemented by black racing strips with white and silver accents. Inside you with find an eye-catching black leather interior with yellow contrast stitching, matching black and yellow gauges, heated drivers' seat with 3-point harness seat belts. Appointed with a Ford Roush 427 cubic inch motor and 4-barrel Holley carburetor rated at 560 horsepower and is mated to a 5-speed Tremec TKO 600 manual transmission making this Cobra an absolute trill to drive. When the vehicle's push button ignition is engaged the sound of the motor roars through the muscular side pipes. Other styling features on the wicked roadster include 6 spoke Hillabrand 18 inch knock off rims, blacked out dual roll bars, blacked out side mirrors. This Backdraft Cobra is also equipped with a removable black canvas top, power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes with vacuum assist.
