This great looking government ordered 1959 GMC Fleet series Pickup is located in our Louisville KY showroom. The Fleet series by GMC was a line designated in 1955 for budget minded companies that needed trucks to run errands. This one was believed to be a truck that air force used for many years as they used many of these when first produced. Today they are an extremely rare truck with only about 100 believed to be in existence today. Most had the grill replaced with the fancier chrome one and the single headlight replaced with the dual ones. This particular 59 has had a complete frame off restoration with nothing left untouched. It has either been replaced refurbished or cleaned up to like new condition if it's on this GMC. Start with the body, all cab corners were replaced with brand new ones and welded into place with the headboard of the bed as well as tailgate were all replaced with fresh metal. Once the body was back in good shape the frame was blasted and took down to bare so that the body and the frame were ready to be brought back to new again. The frame was painted while the bed and cab waited their turn. The Classic blue and white was laid out giving this rare truck that classic look. Once the body and frame were reunited the engine was next. Gone through and inspected, with all new seals in place the original in line was put back under the hood. With the matching original 3 on the tree transmission this Fleet pick up was almost back to original. All the glass was replaced along with a brand new gas tank. Keeping the ride smooth and straight new set of shocks and shackles were installed giving it the same ride as when it left the factory. The last thing to tackle was the interior and as with the rest of the truck it is like a time capsule inside. The vinyl bench seat is as comfortable as ever with the huge GMC steering wheel completing this one of a kind build. Options on this rare 1959 GMC Fleet Pick Up include; AM Radio, Power Steering, Vinyl Interior, and Radial Tires.
